How do I even begin to describe this pizza? A friend told me about JP's, a new spot on the west side of Kauai, so we made sure to stop by on our way back from Koke'e. Let me tell you--it's out in the middle of nowhere, and if you're not paying attention, you might drive right past it. But trust me, it's absolutely worth the trip. We kept it simple with a Margherita pizza, and it completely blew us away. The crust was perfection, the sauce was rich and flavorful, and every bite was just incredible. I have traveled many places and have had my fair share of amazing pizza, but this ranks among the best I've ever had. It also helps that my husband knows the owner's father, which makes supporting this spot even more special. As locals, we'll definitely make it a point to stop by every time we're on that side of the island. If you love great pizza, JP's is a must-visit!

THIS!!!! Tiny hole in the wall local owned business in Kaumakani (just down from Aloha Sweet Delites). JP's is well worth the drive from Lihuè for their awesome pies. One size only and it's HUGE and the Garlic Knots??!!! Fahhget about it. Fresh garlic, buttery soft texture with a delicious dipping sauce. Next time we're trying the white pie cuz owner says it's made with fresh ricotta and local basil pesto sauce. Yummmy!! I could eat this every day except I can't cuz I'd weigh 300 pounds. So Ono!!! Mahalo PJ's for a great Saturday meal.

I grew up in Brooklyn NY- this is the nest pizza since I left NY in 1982! Thin crust, perfect crispness, nice kick of pepper in the sauce. A teal treat!

Best pizza on the island. Must try. It is may go to when I need the pizza fix. Fast considering made by hand and to order.

Our first time ordering from JP's Pizza. While all of the pizzas sounded great, we decided on a sausage calzone. First of all, it was HUGE! We bought it as we were passing by JP's with a plan to warm it up and eat it later. When we opened the box and prepared to warm it up, it took up a full baking sheet. It made two full meals for two people. More importantly, it was absolutely delicious. The cheese, the sausage, and the red sauce that came with it were all excellent. I think we will have to wait until our next trip to try the pizza, but that is a lock. Give JP's a try!

I'm quite particular when it comes to trying out pizza. However, we came to this pizza place after seeing the outstanding reviews online. Had to drive a long distance from the hotel but 100% worth it. The white pie was truly remarkable. The owner of the restaurant greeting us at the window was super nice and told us the entire story behind the restaurant and the chef. This helped give us some background into how amazing the pizza is. The ambience was pretty much all outdoors. I highly recommend coming here if you are in the mood for pizza while in this island.

Add this to your Must Try list. How lucky is Kaua'i to have world class pizza pie, right here on the West Side! JP is an artist! Unique and delicious pies! Seriously, this is some delicious food. We ordered Pepperoni on Sicilian crust. Ooh La La! Best Pepperoni! And the White Pie, ricotta cheese, and basic drizzle! And if that isn't enough, we ordered a side of his Garlic Knots! Plan ahead, grab a couple of pies and head out to catch a sunset! Mahalos JP! We will be back!

This place is about to get even busier! Watch out world! Everyone is about to know about JP and his wonderful family. We got to meet the best dad in the world, Chad and hear about this family affair. JP's dough is really second to none, he really has the science down! The pies are perfectly balanced and are truly exceptional. We tried the white pizza, the cheese, pepperoni and the veggie. I would try them all again! The Pepperoni and the white pies were stand outs. The cheese pizza was very good! We even bought two additional pizzas to take home to friends. One of whom took one bite, straight out of the box and promptly announced, "this is worth the drive!" We came for the story and the family and stayed for the pizza. Looking forward to returning for JP's sister's coffee creations! Thank you to Chad for his warmth and hospitality. Thank you to JP for feeding us and our friends today. You are doing some incredible things in that kitchen! Keep up the excellent work! Thank you for touching our hearts with your story of hard work and dedication to your family and community. Beyond the absolutely delicious pizza, that's really what is the special sauce about this place. You can really taste it.

A year later and I still echo everything I said in my first review. I order from JPs at least once a month and I recommend it to literally everyone I know (and even people I don't). This humble little shop has the best pizza on island, no question. Chad, JPs father, who works the front window and phones, is the gold star for quality customer service. He remembers my husband and I by name and by our usual order, is always so kind and appreciative when we come in, and goes above and beyond to make sure we enjoy our order every time. When we call in pizza and it's a longer wait, he often texts us a follow up to let us know when it's almost ready so we can leave our house to head there. This place is a walk up window and you wouldn't necessarily expect to find someone hyping up service with a setup like this, but Chad always makes a smile with his positive attitude and genuine aloha spirit. Onto chef JP, who continues to grow and perfect his craft in delicious ways. We have been going since the opening and the pizza has only gotten better as they add more options (garlic knots, special toppings), experiment with different styles (Sicilian is always a fun change up!), all while maintaining the quality and portion sizes. It's so fun seeing JP's passion for pizza and following their instagram where he shows his process and experimentation; I've learned a ton about how much precision and care goes into every slice. While I haven't yet had a chance to try, they also recently started an espresso and coffee side of the business in the morning that I'm really excited about. JPs genuinely cares about its customers and operates with them in mind. Recently, they had to make a small price increase, but they explained it transparently (cost of ingredients) and were apologetic even though they did not need to be. It is evident that they value the local customers that keep coming back and have uplifted this business, and they're also so excited to share their product with visitors from all over. JPs has become one of my favorite restaurants on island and they deserve every bit of their success--I can't wait to see it continue!

There are a few other mom and pop pizza places on the island. Most try too hard with too many toppings or their pizzas are plain gross. JP's Pizza is the right balance of ingredients and their pies are nothing but quality. My first time here I wanted to try the pepperoni and one of the fancier pies, but there was no way I was gonna buy two large pies for myself. Lo and behold, you can make half/half pizzas here! I got the pepperoni and white pizza. I asked for the pepperoni slightly crispy, which made it extra delicious. The mozzarella on the white pizza is much lighter and slightly saltier than regular mozzarella. All of this together with their wonderful pizza crust (which is more like a brioche) is epicurean goodness. Service is wonderful too! The owner and his family run the place, take good care of every customer and will honestly explain what each product is like. There's nowhere to dine in, but they have some tables and chairs on a makeshift patio. It rarely rains in Kaumakani, so pull up a chair under the west side Kauai sky and enjoy.
